The season of holidays is upon us, and whether it be Christmas, New Year’s, Rosh Hashanah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, or just an opportunity to get together with family and friends for food, fun and togetherness, it beckons all to celebrate.

It’s also the time of year for catching up on what old friends are doing. So, while styling a recent photo shoot with longtime friend and client Catherine Anaya, Sandra Barbetta asked her, “What is former CBS-5 News Anchor Catherine Anaya up to these days?”

Well known around the Valley for styling the hair of many local TV personalities and celebrities, Sandra, co-owner with husband, Cosmo, of Cosmos Salon and Day Spa, has continued her ties with Catherine in her new roles since she left her position at CBS.

As Catherine explained to Sandra, “It’s a little of a lot and busier than ever.” Catherine believes her primary job is that of wife, as well as CEO to her 12-year-old son, while her daughter is at her parents’ alma mater, the University of Southern California (USC).

But while Catherine is retired from television news, she said she has definitely not retired from the work she is so passionate about. She started her own company, 4Hearts Media, which is the hub of all the things media she’s been doing the past 25 years. She’s also blogging at and on Facebook and Twitter.

Catherine also spends more time with her charitable work as the founder of The Sisterhood of Super Women; a newly-elected member of the Make-A-Wish Arizona board of directors; and the executive director of The Lats Legacy Foundation, which she helped her children establish in their father’s memory.

The foundation, in collaboration with USC, has created The USC Lats Legacy Baseball Scholarship. Catherine said she and her children currently are fund raising to be able to award the first scholarship by the fall of 2016 at

Holiday Hairstyles and Glowing Skin

While you’re getting back together for the holidays with your family and friends, Sandra and her spa team want to make it easy for everyone to look their best by creating exciting holiday packages for yourself, or to gift to a loved one at special discounted prices now through the end of January.

“While deciding what to wear to all those holiday parties, don’t forget about how to wear your hair,” said Sandra. “Have the Cosmos stylists help you pick the most fantastic hairstyles to go with your holiday attire. Updos with braid accents, high buns, and soft S waves are all popular this season,” she said.

With the holiday glow from flickering candles, crackling fireplaces and colorful lights, wouldn’t it be great to have your skin reflect that warm, healthy radiance? “Combining our effective microdermabrasion and enzyme treatments will remove the ravages of time and sun to reveal that holiday glow,” said Sandra, “and it’s only $90. For an advanced treatment, our skin specialists will combine the microdermabrasion with a PCA peel to suit your skin’s specific needs.” Priced at $99, it also includes an after-care kit.

“Cosmos also can assemble a variety of customized gift baskets, and if you don’t know what to choose, gift certificates are always a great idea,” said Sandra.
