Cosmos Swedish/Relaxation Massage – Over time, the body builds up unhealthy amounts of stress hormones in response to work deadlines, traffic jams, relationship problems and more. These hormones can cause physical problems, like digestive issues, headaches and sleeplessness. Relaxation massage decreases the amount of stress hormones in the body, leaving clients feeling completely relaxed and rested, even after the session is over. The techniques used during the massage trigger changes in the brain’s chemistry, resulting in reduced stress and an improved mood.
Cosmos Deep Tissue Massage – Using slow strokes to apply pressure, the massage focuses on areas of defined pain and tension. Injuries or chronic muscle tension can cause adhesions, more commonly referred to as knots, to form in the tendons, ligaments and muscles. These adhesions are rigid, often painful and they can block proper blood circulation, impede natural movement and cause inflammation and pain. When the muscles are deeply massaged, blood flow throughout the body is increased. The better blood flow reduces inflammation and therefore relieves pain.
Cosmos PreNatal Massage – Massage has been used for thousands of years to relieve stress, relax the muscles, and improve general health – and that remains true during pregnancy. While the essential benefits of massage therapy remain the same, prenatal massage requires different techniques to insure the safety of both the mother and the baby. With a few precautions (if there are any complications, you will need a note from your doctor) and a clear line of communication between the mother and her therapist, there is little to no danger to either the mother or the child. We only offer 60 minute sessions for Prenatal massage for the safety of the Mother and child.
Cosmos Hot Stone Massage – Hot Stone Massage melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness, and increases circulation and metabolism. Each session features the placement of smooth, water-heated stones at key points on the body to allow for deeper relaxation of the muscles. Our Massage Therapist incorporates a customized massage, with the use of hot stones, to create a healing and relaxing experience.
Cosmos Sports Massage – Sports Massage is important for every level of athlete from cross-country runners to power lifters to football players. This is great for Golfers! Before an event, sports massage allows for the player to loosen their muscles and after an event it allows the player to relax the muscles to decrease the chance of sports related stress injuries. Sports massage is also a key element in preventing injuries and also helping athletes recover more quickly from injuries. Using Sports Massage properly will help athletes maintain and even improve upon their conditioning. Three main types of massage are integrated in a therapeutic Sports Massage to maximize the health and/or repair benefits of it.
Exfoliating Foot Scrub Enhancement – Naturally soothe, hydrate and refresh tired feet with our enhancement.
Hot Stone Therapy Enhancement – Add Hot Stones to any massage to allow your therapist to access deeper layers of muscle tissue and relieve more tension, stress and overworked muscle. You can choose if you want your therapist to work on your back and shoulders, arms or legs and feet.
Cold Stone Therapy Enhancement – One of the benefits of cold stone massage is that it can provide a deep state of relaxation, a release of tension, as well as, a reduction of swelling and inflammation due to scar tissue, trauma or injuries to muscles. Cold stones are critical in stone massage work as they decrease soreness when working on deeper muscles, draw heat away from the body, and help to strengthen on a cellular level.
BioFreeze Enhancement – Biofreeze application can help facilitate a more pain-free movement of joints and limbs. It can also provide effective relief for people troubled by sore muscles; back, shoulder and neck pain; arthritis; painful ankle, knee, hip and elbow joints, and muscular strains.
